Aquavita International S.A. is a shipping company operating a fleet of time chartered bulk carriers ranging in size from 20 000 up to 85 000 metric tons. On average we operate 25 modern vessels which have been employed from several months to several years. Our fleet is continuously adapted to suit the company's contractual commitments for carriage of cargoes. The volume carried from our opening in 2006 and up to date has exceeded 12 million tons and is expected to rise in the years to come.
Aquavita maintains an extensive portfolio of customers, especially of Russian and Ukrainian origins in all dry bulk segments, such as fertilizers, ore, pig iron, grains, bauxite, alumina, steel, coal, etc. We believe that the continuous growth of volume of seaborne commodities in East European and Central Asian countries combined with our thorough knowledge of local markets is a key to the success of the company.
The Black Sea remains our core market where we have grown to become a major carrier of cargoes originating or destined to this region. Whilst we maintain this position, we continue our expansion in the global shipping market, going “from local to global”.
Our international team of 20 professionals is located in the company's offices at Athens, Monaco and Odessa. Quality is a feature of Aquavita: our chartering and operations managers enjoy strong reputation and excellent track of performance. With dedicated and motivated staff we are prepared to meet the future challenges from the shipping market – still with focus to offer an efficient, reliable and first class service to our customers.
Particular attention is being paid to Risk Management which analyses all company's contractual positions on daily basis, in order not to exceed the adopted level. Whilst the company is poised for a growth, the management ensures a steady development to happen without taking unreasonable risks. Such philosophy has helped us to take proper view on overheated 2008 freight market and to pass through subsequent economic downturn with good performance. Furthermore our trade volumes have increased in 2009 thanks to efficient and reliable service, which Aquavita provide to our partners.
